On Nov 1, 2005, a team of experts and managers from Roche, including Dr. Marcus Droege and Dr. Bruno Frey, from Roche Global R&D, Germany, visited Beijing Genomics Institute and gave a presentation on the Roche GS20 System for High Throughput Sequencing Technology.

The Genome Sequencer 20 System uses a revolutionary technology, producing millions of raw bases per hour on a single instrument. The software included with the Genome Sequencer 20 System enables mapping or de now assembly for whole genome shotgun sequencing of genomes up to 50 megabases.

After listening to the presentation, Dr. Yang Huanming, Dr. Yu Jun and other researchers had discussions with the visitors and exchanged views on related fields.
